CHOOSE THE RIGHT TEMPLATE

Which CV template suits you?

Extensive work experience

Choose a template with a wide, continuous area for experience. This makes longer descriptions easier to read.

Many skills or certificates

A two-column template works well when you need to show several languages, systems, qualifications or specialist skills.

A career change or new direction

Prioritise a clear profile summary and transferable skills rather than simply highlighting previous job titles.

Little or no experience

Give more space to education, placements, projects, voluntary work and relevant skills. Do not fill the document with decoration to hide its length.

CLEAR STRUCTURE

CV templates and ATS

ATS are recruitment systems that receive and manage applications. How they interpret documents varies, and no template can guarantee a particular result.

  • Use established headings and a logical reading order.
  • Make sure important information is available as ordinary text.
  • Avoid replacing skills with icons alone.
  • Use words from the advert when they accurately describe you.
  • Review the PDF before sending it.
Content comes first. An attractive template can make good content easier to read, but cannot replace relevant, specific descriptions.

SAME PROFILE, NEW APPLICATION

The template does not have to be the same every time

A creative style may suit some roles, while a restrained layout feels more natural for others. Adapting the content is more important. With CVPilot, you can reuse your profile, target the text to an advert and choose a layout when the documents are created.

Always check dates, contact details, wording and content selection before using the document.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions about CV templates

How long should a CV be?

One or two pages are enough for many people. Relevant experience and clarity matter more than a fixed number of pages.

Should my CV include a photo?

A photo is optional in Sweden. Choose based on the situation and what you feel comfortable with.

Can I use the same template for every job?

Yes. Adapting your experience, profile and skills is usually more important than changing the design.

Which file format is best?

PDF normally preserves the layout. Always follow the employer's instructions if another format is requested.
